It’s my party.

As promised, the blog has arrived, but you may notice a lack of a podcast attached to it.

Why?

Because I really didn’t want to do it.

Can I say that? Can we all get on board with saying that more?

I know it’s the thing right now to make reels, blog, podcast, vlog, share, share, share. I’m going to adopt the phrase my three-year-old is really fond of right now.

No.

Make all the things. Be all the creative.

To that I say…

No.

I told my husband that I couldn’t tell if my lack of wanting to do the podcast came from being lazy, or if I genuinely just loathed the thought of all that editing- which really has nothing to do with what I like doing. He said, “didn’t you just answer your own question?”

I did.

I worked in marketing for years, and I know the power of content creation. It’s something I could have harnessed on this platform. Probably, it’s something I should do for book sales. But, no thank you.

This is a passion project. There will be no “new blog coming every Tuesday, check out the post on Insta every Friday during lunch (an optimal posting time), and watch my vlog series about my life while I do my makeup (which I don’t actually wear). There are people that are totally ignited with joy by doing those things. To quote a person who is just a bit more knowledgable than my toddler, the magnificent Bob Dylan, “It ain’t me, babe.”

So, I can promise that I’ll write things I am actually interested in. I promise to talk, in ad nauseam, about the stories I have read that made me love story telling even more. I promise to share my struggles and joys as a writer. And I promise to talk about life because the best story in your life should be your own, and we could all do with a bit more connecting over these masterpieces.

Thanks for being here. I can’t wait to share more.
